Monument
The Sound
Last one from our CALVIN MARSHALL soundtrack — this music placement is special to me. I love Calvin’s clutch baseball moment unfolding in beer league softball with Tori watching.
Is it fear that you feel
when all eyes are on you?
It was a montage I imagined at the script stage and so thrilling to land the usage rights. Here’s a tweet when it was announced back in 2011 and HOW we got the permission in this Twitter thread.
From an all time favorite artist, Adrian Borland wrote and recorded some amazing post-punk records in relative obscurity. I love the way this track begins with the rising kick drum and guitar. It’s a song that’s a little hard to classify or categorize but it’s beautiful and moving and 100% Adrian.
Is it fear, Is it fear
That you feel inside of you?
Is it fear?
Shouting out just fear
You feel inside of you
Is it fear that you feel
When all eyes are on you?
Is it fear?
Surely not just fear you feel
When all eyes are on you
Rise and rise
Rise above,
Rise and rise
Not just a girl
Not just a girl, not just a building
For the skyline
Not just a girl, not just a building
For our eyes
Not just a girl, not just a building
But a monument to love
Rise and rise
Rise above,
Rise and rise
We will never pull you down
No we shouldn't put you down
You're a monument to love
