Salome
Old 97’s
Back from Wyoming, I’m coming up for air after going down this little Alt-Country rabbit hole with a song from one of my favorite records TOO FAR TO CARE. This is one giant record from ‘97 that features 13 great songs — so it was hard to choose just one. Twelve of these songs are carried by Rhet Miller’s terrific vocals and all thirteen are backed by a seasoned band that really can’t be defined by genre. You can hear pop, country, bluegrass and traces of punk rock in these tracks. Even this great song is hard to call Alt-Country — but I think that’s what I’d have to call it and it chose me tonight. It’s just a great ballad that we had Rosie Thomas sing in our film CALVIN MARSHALL and Coach Little falls in love with her as she performs. 😆 ❤️
Salome, uncross your heart
I know what goes on inside, it's over before it starts
Stay all night, yeah I'll wait right here
The full moon might work magic, girl but I won't disappear
And I'm tired of makin' friends and I'm tired of makin' time
And I'm sick to death of love and I'm sick to death of tryin'
And it's easier for you, oh it's easier for you
And it's easier for you, it's easier for you
Salome, untie my hands
Well I'll find another lady and you'll wreck another man
It's over now, yeah and so are we
My blood's turned to dirt, girl you broke every part of me
And I'm tired of makin' friends and I'm tired of makin' time
And I'm sick to death of love and I'm sick to death of tryin'
And it's easier for you, oh it's easier for you
And it's easier for you, oh it's easier
And I'm tired of makin' friends and I'm tired of makin' time
And I'm sick to death of love and I'm sick to death of tryin'
And it's easier for you, yeah it's easier for you
And it's easier for you, oh it's easier for you
And it's easier for you, oh it's easier for you, oh
